Barbara Seifert
Barbara Seifert: (Violin) studied at the Academy of Music "Franz Liszt" in Weimar with Prof. Gernot Süßmuth (1st concertmaster of the State Opera Weimar) and then continued her studies at the Academy of Music "Hanns Eisler" in Berlin with Prof. Michael Mücke. Immediately after her studies she has been a member of the Academy of the "State Opera Berlin" taking lessons at by Lothar Strauß. She has been active in many master classes of internationally known soloists like Thomas Zehetmair and Julia Fischer. She was more than once decorated with prizes of the "Jugend musiziert" competition. Already during her studies she has been concertmaster of the "International Bach Academy Stuttgart", the "Orchestra Academy Bayreuth", "RIAS Youth Orchestra and the "Eastern Music Festival" in Greensboro. As orchestra member she already played under Zubin Mehta, Daniel Barenboim, Pierre Boulez and Helmuth Rilling to name a few. Starting 2009 she is the Principle Violinist of the 2nd Violins of the State Opera Weimar.
